About Pontiac RV

Our History

PONTIAC RV is a family owned and operated business that has been selling and servicing RVs for over 40 years.  Ken and Gail Kafer started the business in the late 1970’s.  The first location started out of a garage in Division street in Pontiac, IL.  After a few years, they moved to their second location on the corner of Ladd and Route 116.  In 1989, their two sons, Kent and Kevin joined the dealership full time.  Eventually, they ran out of room at their location and moved out to the interstate.  They bought 10 acres and built a parts store and 3 garage bays.  As time went on, the dealership continued to grow and more land was purchased and additional service bays were added.  In 2000, more family was added to the dealership as Ken and Gail’s daughter, Courtney and her husband started working full time.  In 2004, the Kafer’s made another investment in their company and built one of the largest showrooms in the country.  The 108,000 sq foot showroom allows for over 100 RVs to be displayed in side.  The new showroom also has 17 customer orientation bays.  

Our Management

Ken and Gail have since retired.  Kent, Kevin, Courtney, and Mark are now responsible for day to day operations.  Kent is the General Manager and oversees the entire dealership operations.  Kevin is the Service Manager and is responsible for the service department and parts department.  Courtney is the Business Manager and oversees the finance office.  Mark is the Sales Manager.  At Pontiac RV, the owners of the dealership are involved in every aspect. 

Our Employees

Pontiac RV has over 50 employees, most have been with the dealership for many years.  The employees of the dealership are one of its greatest assets.  They take pride in their work and want to ensure that their customers have a wonderful experience purchasing and using their camper.  Many of the employees are campers themselves and love the lifestyle.

Our Philosophy

Pontiac RV believes in having a large selection of both new and used RVs and the best prices.  Pontiac RV understands that customers have many options when it comes to purchasing their next RV and want to make the buying process as easy as possible.  Pontiac RV does not charge for dealer prep fees, walk through fees, or doc fees. 

Pontiac RV has been around for over 35 years and will be around for many more.  When you buy an RV from them, you can know that they will be there to service your RV after the sale.
